READS-TO-GO kits contain paperback books. We do not add a title to the program until the paperback has been released. We realize that The Help, by Kathryn Stockett, is in great demand right now, but it will not be made into a kit just yet. Originally the paperback release date was scheduled for the spring of 2010, now we've found that it has been pushed to January 2011! These things are out of our control! Please remember that if a book is discussable today, it will still be discussable a year from now.
If a library agrees to host a kit, it must be willing to purchase the books and process the kit quickly so that the kit can start circulating as soon as possible.
While we appreciate receiving offers of used books that your book group would like to donate, they may not fit into our guidelines. If the title is not current (published in paperback within the last 2 years), or if we already have the title in a kit, we probably won't add it to our program. If in doubt, please write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org and ask.
The READS-TO-GO committee is composed of five volunteers in different locations and with differing schedules, so we ask for your patience when you are expecting a response from us.
