A Little Controversy Is Always Good

Always good for a writer, that is. Challenge something and interest and sales automatically go up. The author of Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Fight Terrorism and Build Nations--One School at a Time, Greg Mortenson, has been taken to task by the television program 60 Minutes.

Mortenson has responded to accusations of inaccuracy in his book, and so has his publisher, Viking Press.

For as long as there is a bit of uncertainty as to the "truth" of Mortenson's story, interest in the book will be intensified. If your book group hasn't already read Three Cups of Tea, contact Bedford Public Library, 472-2300 or Barrington Public Library, 664-9715, to see if either of our two READS-TO-GO kits are available.
